APCO Worldwide, an award winning global strategic communications and public affairs consultancy, has a great opportunity to join our Beijing office as a Consultant. This role will provide the right candidate a chance to work closely with a talented and well-regarding team of public affairs experts and contribute to the success of the firm. 

Our clients, many of them leading companies in their industries, include various consumer goods MNCs, prominent F&B and lifestyle brands, new media companies, manufacturers of medical equipment, non-government organizations, foundations and the government. These clients usually appoint APCO to support their public affairs and government relations and strategic communication needs.  

We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic individual with experience in government relations, policy analysis and issue management who can work with teams to support client projects by providing research and analysis on client issues, drafting written materials in English, and issues monitoring. The ideal candidate will have some experience in the food & consumer products sectors.  The consultant works staff at all levels and may work directly with clients.

 The nature of this position will provide the right individual the opportunity to work as part of a fast paced international organization, and collaborate with colleagues throughout Greater China and possibly globally.  This role requires an individual who is bright, resourceful, and takes initiative.

Key Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Produce drafts of policy analysis, issue summaries, reports and other client materials
• Conduct research based on both primary and secondary sources
• Meet project deadlines as assigned
• Coordinate and execute stakeholder engagement activities
• Inform team members of possible issues regarding client projects
• Participate in internal meetings and conference calls
• Support other team members as necessary in order to complete client projects
• Look for new business opportunities and present to staff

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 3-5 years of related experience
• Food & consumer products experience a plus
• BA/BS or equivalent
• Demonstrated fluency in written and oral English and Chinese
• Some travel may be required
